1. Who we are
Ultra World Comics ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the ultracomicverse.com website and Ultra World Comics service (the "Service").
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, login credentials.
- Profile and content data: bookmarks, reading progress, preferences.
- Support data: messages you send us through contact channels.
- Usage and device data: IP address, device/browser identifiers, pages viewed, basic telemetry used to operate and secure the Service.
- Order data: the fact that you hold an active day pass or membership. Card details and billing addresses are collected and held by Paddle, not by us.
3. Why we use your data and our legal basis
- To provide the Service (account creation, access to content, sync of bookmarks) — performance of our contract with you.
- To process orders via our reseller Paddle — performance of contract / legal obligation.
- To secure the Service and prevent fraud — legitimate interests.
- To improve the Service (basic analytics, debugging) — legitimate interests.
- To respond to support requests — legitimate interests / contract.
- For marketing communications, where applicable — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Who we share data with
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for sale of the Service, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing and customer service for orders. See the Paddle Privacy Notice.
- Service providers / subprocessors that help us run the Service — hosting, database, authentication, email and analytics providers — under appropriate contractual safeguards.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law or to protect rights, safety and security.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers (including Paddle) may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
6. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. EU/UK users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, contact us via our contact page. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege principles. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
9. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We may also use limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage cookies in your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
